Since its inception in 1984, the IWC Portofino collection has attracted the attentions from lovers of watches who are passionate about the Italian lifestyle. Today, the brand further expands this iconic series with the introduction of two new watches equipped with manual winding eight-day power reserve movements. In the first watch (IW510115), IWC used suede for the first time as a strap material. The second watch (IW510116), IWC provides a new combination of materials and colors. In this variant of the hand-wound classic design, the dark blue dial forms an pleasing contrast to the elegant steel Milanese bracelet.
Equipped with the 59210-type movement, the both new watches are able to accurately and reliably run a full 192 hours which is 8 days, and then it will automatically stop. In fact, the movement can run for nine days, and the early stop can ensure that the torque is constant during operation. The pointer power reserve display window is located between the 8 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions to remind the wearer to wind the movement in due course. Without a trimmer, the balance-oscillation frequency balances up to 28,800 vibrations per hour, and plus the Breguet gossamer formed by the traditionally curved watchmaking tradition ensures that the watch is accurate.
The wearer can watch the precise operation of the movement decorated with the Geneva pattern through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.
